
Ahmad Ali is a Managing Director of Auldbrass Partners. Before joining Auldbrass Partners, Ahmad was the Director and Head of Private Equity at Cornell University’s Office of University Investments from 2003-2012.
At Cornell's Office of University Investments, Ahmad held responsibility across private equity, real estate, technology hedged equity, and select investments in natural resources. Ahmad was responsible for the structuring as well as the construction of alternative asset portfolios. Ahmad allocated $1.9 billion in commitments to 100 general partnerships across buyouts, growth equity, venture capital, real estate, and energy strategies globally. During his tenure at Cornell, the private equity portfolio was the single largest asset class within the endowment at approximately $ 1.1 billion of NAV.
Ahmad began his career in the private equity ecosystem at Bank of America – Merrill Lynch in the Leverage Finance & High Yield Group, and subsequently at TMG Capital and Charles Fields & Associates.
Ahmad is currently an Adjunct Faculty Member at the Johnson School of Management (Cornell) where he teaches an MBA elective: “Intensive Private Equity Practicum." He has spoken at several Conferences, including SuperReturns Asia, Middle East & Europe; and the Dow Jones PE Analyst.
Ahmad has an MBA from Northwestern University (Kellogg), and a BA from Boston University.
